Warm Browns, continued
I tried not to try – it came out as usual… It was supposed to be a loose selvedge, made quickly and along the path of least resistance. Hm. Now I have concerns that my perverse plan to weave a “flak” for people who value price, not quality, will not come to fruition. When I started weaving, my selvedges were not that strong, why!? ;P The selvedge is…
for Seweryn
In Ląd, it finally dawned on me that it would be necessary to take care of Seweryn's historical clothes. It is obvious that a shoemaker walks without shoes, but this cannot be transferred to his loved ones. A shirt that I sewed last year required particularly quick intervention - a new shirt, but without trims, with scabbed (oh, the spell checker knows this word) edges...

Norwegian salmon with eggplant in cream
If anyone is wondering what to make for dinner today, or how to prepare the salmon they just bought, and ended up here, I apologize for the confusion, because the post is about the recently woven lace 😉 Gardening tip: remove faded hydrangea inflorescences in spring – they may come in handy in winter 😉 I don’t know much about colors, and especially…
Second green series
I finished the green yarn, and the yarn finished me. This time I didn't touch up the colors, so that you could compare how I see these selvedges and how the camera sees them 😉 The warp is the same as in the case of the brown selvedges. So this series is a bit wider than the previous green ones. The swastikas fit in elegantly. I also went a step further in the variations...
Motley
I recently made a colorful selvedge. It is 4.5 cm wide. It was supposed to be 9 m long, which is half a meter more than I had managed to make using elements of housing infrastructure. It turned out that all I had to do was make a certain modification to the way the warp was wound. The selvedge came out with a margin, because it is almost 10 m long. I estimate that…
Warm browns
I present a variation on the find from Ostrówek in Opole. I chose a harmonious color scheme of warm browns. I modified the pattern, leaving the grosgrain weave in the middle. The rows are tightly compressed, so the selvedge is quite stiff and solid, and it came out wider than I expected for the number of threads in the warp (3.4 cm). I managed to break the length record and came out 8.6 m….

I invite you to my blog for a distinction 🙂
Thank you for the distinction, which can be found here: http://marrgott.blogspot.com
beautiful selvedge. I'm looking for patterns for selvedges, I'm just starting out and I have a question, how do you read patterns and create your own?
Lunaris, thank you for visiting and praising 🙂
I was a bit confused by the question of how to read patterns, because I don't know 🙂 It's like this for me, that while weaving a selvedge, I get ideas for 3 more. I can't keep up with implementing them, so I at least draw the designs on paper.
There are some finds that can be guessed… or rather reconstructed 😉 – as you gain technical skills, figuring out the pattern becomes easier.
After seeing your works, I am convinced that you will not lack creativity 😀
