Many-witted

Again, I'm quite behind on writing. That's because, for an unemployed person, I've had a lot of work lately ;P
I present the selvedges that I made especially for the Wielewit team. Designs and colors reserved 😀

The selvedge on the left is 2.2 cm wide and 6.5 m long – it was originally 12.8 m long, but was cut off.
At the back there is a selvedge 2.5 cm wide and 10.4 m long.
On the right there is a selvedge also 2.5 cm wide and 10.1 m long.

During the training I had a 2-week break from riding and weaving, but I have still made some progress:

151.7 m of selvedge
40:14 driving time
595 km distance

PS Regarding the changes that the blogger team has introduced, concerning the post editing field, I would say that "blogger sucks", but I don't want to be vulgar. So I'll just write that I don't like the changes, because the text and photos are separated - there are some unnecessary spaces and gaps between the text and the images. And I want the photos in the middle - despite this setting in the edit, after publishing they are on the left. Previously, writing was more convenient. I see one advantage - there is a post preview (thanks to which you can see what has separated ;P).

  • Brown Series

The material crisis has passed with the arrival of a full bundle of yarn. The colors will now be quite natural, and the selvedges will be difficult, because the wool is hard and rough. If so, I will make it more difficult and make the selvedges very patterned. I only wonder what my hands will look like after working through the whole bundle – maybe I will find a way to make the most effective peeling in the world. Each…

  • More complicated

Following the advice, I will try the html mode. The image is still on the left, even though the style is "center" and I added align center. But I can add non-breaking spaces. And I really do have better control over all of this. If something falls apart, it's only my fault 😉 I recently had the opportunity to make a slightly more difficult selvedge. A bit…

  • Brown series again

This is the second series of brown stripes. The number of threads and the arrangement are the same as before. The patterns are different, because I try never to repeat myself. It's a waste of time, and there are so many ideas. Weaving from coarse yarn is laborious and a bit off-putting. The effect is quite interesting, so that's the only reason I didn't throw the wool in the farthest corner, so...

  • Opole Krajka

I present another selvedge. The original comes from Ostrówek in Opole and is dated to the 4th quarter of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century. I used factory yarn, 100% wool. The number of threads in the warp is identical to the original, but my yarn is thicker, so the selvedge is also wider - instead of 2.5 cm it is 3.2 cm. Plain-grosgrain weave. Length 7.7…

  • Pokemon

I'm almost afraid to use this word, because uncle Google will start referring Pokemon hunters or collectors to my blog. Fortunately, I don't have a phobia about it - I remember that there was some cartoon with funny creatures, but the wave didn't take me. Actually, neither of the two waves: delight and mocking criticism. I won't describe the genesis of the selvedge,…
