When you have leftover materials at your disposal, you can create such "miracles":
The selvedge is made of cotton cord. It is 3 cm wide and 2.3 m long. I finished it with fringes on both sides. It is pleasant to the touch and quite stiff. I will boldly put it this way: it is showy 😉
Just last year I wove two woolen selvedges for friends so they could sew historical clothes. The first one has nicely matched colors, because I didn’t choose them 😉 The gray with red looks great. The pattern is my own idea – a simple pattern, but I think it’s quite charming. The width of the selvedge is 1.7 cm, length 7.7 m….
Where did I end up…? A pistachio-cherry creation. However, I’ve been weaving a bit lately and have created a few selvedges, none of which have yet had a separate blog premiere (at most, they’ve been in a spoiler). I recently made a colorful selvedge. It is 4.5 cm wide. It was supposed to be 9 m long, which is half a meter more than I had managed to make using elements of housing infrastructure.
