Sleeve 2015

I invite you to Rękawka. For details, please visit (click) – website of the Podgórze Cultural Center.

As part of the preparations, I made 2 warps on the bardko. I deliberately don't show what slowly comes out of them - it's something different than I've usually weaved so far.

I finally sewed myself new dresses. One of thick natural linen, which I trimmed with Opole lace. The other in a beautiful green color, also linen, but still without trim.

I hope I've piqued someone's interest with these mysterious photos 😉 I'm planning on doing a small weaving demonstration. I'll also take a vertical loom, a selvedge on sticks, and a few other bits and bobs.

  • I'm speechless ;)

Hello after a long break. I have neglected my blog a lot, because I am speechless. Doubly so… First of all, I am speechless with excitement, because many “interesting” things have been happening to me. And I am speechless in many meters of tapes and ribbons, but fortunately I love it. There was no shortage of pleasant things – here I immediately think of the Archaeological Museum in…

  • Buttons – haberdashery for reenactors

My latest tailoring feats are late medieval men's clothing – doublet, cothehardie, robe… On this occasion I made a few handfuls of typical haberdashery accessories 🙂 In the Middle Ages – in addition to buttons cast from metal – textile buttons were used, i.e. made from a piece of fabric. And no wonder – such buttons are also used today, although not very often. Buttons are made of:…

  • What the eyes don’t see…

On the day of the publication of the previous post, I was optimistic and full of energy. We enthusiastically started planting the fruit trees we had bought earlier. Unfortunately, our orchard-growing ambitions turned into pseudo-archaeological excavations. What had previously looked like an idyllic, weedy meadow turned out to be an old garbage dump. Bricks from a Romanesque castle, a halberd and a padlock from a chastity belt 😉 We worked quite…

  • Lately…

I had another break 🙂 A very fruitful one 😉 I have Rękawka, a few private matters, and recently a May Day holiday in Biskupin. This is what my textile arrangement looked like: The photo was taken by Kasia, and her company made my time more pleasant – greetings 🙂 The photo also shows bagpipes and fiddles – of course they are not mine. Kasia plays old…

  • Basket from the Noteć River

I was tempted to make myself a small basket. Since the woven rods are very durable, I decided to go to the water to look for material. It’s not exactly where I collected long green leaves, but I want to convey the mood of the place 😉 Although you can’t see the entire beautiful Noteć floodplain. In the autumn, I brought myself leaves and dried them. It’s not a water cattail, nor is it calamus…

  • Winter season

It finally dawned on me that the summer season is over. That is, the season of travel, dealing with various matters and general madness. Of course, the pleasant madness that makes you live. I have several successful ventures behind me, and for one of them, clear confirmation embedded in plastic. Now it will be an open time. Because all ideas can be started to be implemented. Without hanging deadlines…

  1. Once upon a time, I learned to weave, but without any major or even minor successes, and I gave up on the idea that I could make something nice out of it... I feel inspired, I fell into it by accident and I will definitely stay for a while!
    beautiful works! Greetings 🙂
