Basket from the Noteć River

I was tempted to make myself a small basket. Since the woven reeds are very durable, I decided to go to the water to look for material.
It’s not exactly here that I collected the long green leaves, but I want to convey the mood of the place 😉 Although you can’t see the entire beautiful Noteć floodplain.
In the fall I brought myself leaves and dried them. It's not water cattail, nor is it calamus... I have a suspicion, but I won't insist on it.
As usual, first to interest:
The leaves had to be soaked to make them more flexible. And off we go.
The beginning is in the hands of…
Then flat…
Then a bowl…
But the shape didn't suit me, so I took a large pot.
I attached it to an inkle loom. So this loom is not only useful for weaving selvedges.
I cut the ends off and used a needle to secure the edges.
And then I went with a basket to the Noteć, because it looks best there 😉

On the day of the publication of the previous post, I was optimistic and full of energy. We enthusiastically started planting the fruit trees we had bought earlier. Unfortunately, our orchard-growing ambitions turned into pseudo-archaeological excavations. What had previously looked like an idyllic, weedy meadow turned out to be an old garbage dump. Bricks from a Romanesque castle, a halberd and a padlock from a chastity belt 😉 We worked quite…

…with a very small “pe”. I carved the spindle myself, but it’s not very crooked 😉 The spindle is perfectly balanced, because it was bought from Lepiglina. The shop-bought top is ready. The results? Sometimes the spindle turns, sometimes it doesn’t, it spins sideways, untwists, falls, the yarn breaks, “pillows” form, or the thread is extremely thin. And the phenomenon: a complete lack of frustration from failures. A few…

  • The haberdashery

Apparently there are those who are waiting for me to finally write something. What's more, it's not just one person 😉 I've managed to do quite a lot lately, and the excess of activities hasn't overwhelmed me at all. I'm actually overjoyed that I have a lot of work - but that's probably because of the effects. I can brazenly and immodestly boast that I've started a business. From the beginning...

  1. I laughed out loud – praise and a subtle, playful sarcasm in one – impressive 🙂
Praises are, next to the beauty of nature, the silence of the forest, kindness, wisdom and the works of other people, what motivates me to work. And in life, action is probably the most important thing 🙂
