January in numbers
Last year's selvedges are hidden in a special basket because I can't look at them anymore. This year's selvedges, on the other hand, make my work more pleasant, lying on the shelf. The sight of fresh products inspired me to write this post.
The statistical summary is as follows:
– number of prepared warps: 9,
– number of finished products: 11,
– total area: 71 m,
– average footage per warp: 7.89 m,
– weight of all selvedges: 1.05 kg,
– average weight per meter: almost 15 g,
– weaving time: 104 hours,
– average time to weave a meter: 1:28,
– therefore the average length per hour: 68 cm.
You just need to know the length of the selvedge, the weaving time and use the scale, and there are so many numbers to juggle 😉
January was very effective, because I wove almost half of last year's yardage. Probably because I was testing a new technique for weaving these most ordinary selvedges. This year there will be no resolutions and no counting of yardage on the blog. Unless someone challenges me, like last time. Incidentally, we forgot to decide who wove more, but that was clearly not the goal... And above all, quality counts, and my "competitor" weaves beautiful selvedges mainly using tablets. So we also use different tools that are difficult to compare.
The selvedge tower is still growing…
What wonderful things you knit. I can't take my eyes off them.
Best regards, Kasia
Thank you, best regards 🙂 I'm getting down to work to make more and better…
