The selvedges have their place in the house – just an ordinary shelf in a wall unit. I stare at them sometimes. Now I have so many of these selvedges. Not enough, because you can still see the back panel, and I would like to fill the shelf completely. 146.4 m of selvedge 14:50 driving time 217 km distance
The starting material for the dyeing game was a piece of white linen cloth and a linen thread called twine. I measured a circle with a plate, cut it out, hemmed it and rubbed it wet with alum. I bought alum a long time ago in a chemist's in the form of deodorant. I think asking here what I dyed it with misses the point, since the photo clearly suggests that...
