Pokemon

I'm almost afraid to use this word, because uncle Google will start referring Pokemon hunters or collectors to my blog. Fortunately, I don't have a phobia about it - I remember that there was some cartoon with funny creatures, but the wave didn't take me. Actually, neither of the two waves: delight and mocking criticism.

I will not describe the origins of the selvedge I am presenting today. Well, maybe I will write one thing: Pokemon conkreciarz.

I used coarse tapestry yarn in exceptionally lively colours 😉 The result was a nice wide strip, a little over 2 m long.

I am not happy with the photo, because the camera, as usual, had its own opinion about the colors. I struggled a bit, then I wondered if there was any point in publishing any of the photos at all, and now I decided to show this: I repeat, I am not a photographer 🙂 You could say that this series of selvedges was created because of an itchy visual organ. Nothing so…

  • Spring

For me, spring started at the end of January. A larger dose of warm light + wildly chirping sparrows in the form of ruffled balls attached to the hedge. Apparently there were frosts and snow later - I didn't notice. But I finished the border for the Wielewit team. It is 8.5 m long and 3 cm wide. Made of Oliwia, an acrylic-wool yarn. It is very…

As I wrote, that's what I did. The red (i.e. cherry) selvedge with a gold (i.e. yellow) pattern is ready. It's supposedly made of a more plastic yarn (75% wool from acrylic sheep), but it turned out to be more atmospheric - it's a bit rough to the touch... or maybe fuzzy. The previous, woolen 50% was woven as if from plastic bags ;P It turned out that the maximum possibilities of the current...

  • MiÄ…czynek demands access to the sea

The idea for such unusual selvedges was born in the winter while watching an evening series set in the Caribbean. Between scenes, there were often views with the seashore in the background and palm trees in the foreground. As much as the colors of the yarns and my imagination allowed me to, I conveyed the impression. This is one of the most enjoyable experiments. I am very glad that…

  • Pastures grazing

Last year I decided to put a bit more threads on the very, design a more complicated pattern, weave a piece and leave such a half-finished selvedge to show the technique of weaving. My presentation lasted even 2 months, but I couldn't stop weaving and had to rework the entire warp. In September I made myself a second warp to show weaving techniques during…
