The haberdashery

Apparently there are those who are waiting for me to finally write something. What's more, it's not just one person 😉

I've managed to do quite a lot lately, and the excess of activities hasn't overwhelmed me at all. I'm actually overjoyed that I have a lot of work - but that's probably because of the effects.

I can brazenly and immodestly boast that I have started my own business. The Passamoniczka company has been operating since the beginning of August. I do what I love, which is weaving. It is so untraditional, because in our culture it is obvious that a person should tire themselves out with work, be a sufferer all their life, so that in retirement they can revel in bitterness 😉 But why am I even writing this? It is known that true passion produces wonderful effects - weaving and all the related craft practices are traditional in my work. And maybe also respect for the creators, whom I am not as good as, but I can take as a role model.

A haberdashery maker is not only a passion, but also specific activities, such as the production of selvedges and other historical textile items. I organize and lead craft shows, workshops and weaving meetings.

Honestly, not much has changed, because I have been involved in weaving for several years now and have gained quite a lot of experience. The entry in CEIDG is a formal confirmation of my qualifications and, in fact... a fulfillment of dreams - well, maybe some of them.

I already know I won't reach my "1,2,3" goal this year, but that doesn't worry me. Things are pretty good anyway:
176 m of selvedge
45:18 driving time
656 km distance

  • Unemployed graduate

On January 12, I received my diploma. The feeling of happiness at finishing my studies is irreplaceable and wonderful. I was returning from college with a backpack full of originals, copies and supplements, as well as flour at 54 gr per kg... Suddenly, the phone rang, interrupting my audiobook reading. It turned out that I had a job offer. And they say that it's hard to find a job after graduation. After some thought, I declined...

I invite you to Rękawka. For details, please visit (click) – the website of the Podgórze Cultural Center. As part of the preparations, I made 2 warps for bardko. I deliberately do not show what is slowly being created from them – it is something different than what I have usually weaved so far. I finally sewed myself new dresses. One of thick natural linen, which I trimmed with Opole lace. The other…

I had another break 🙂 A very fruitful one 😉 I have Rękawka, a few private matters, and recently a May Day holiday in Biskupin. This is what my textile arrangement looked like: The photo was taken by Kasia, and her company made my time more pleasant – greetings 🙂 The photo also shows bagpipes and fiddles – of course they are not mine. Kasia plays old…

  2. Hi Asia! And my congratulations on opening your business! If someone does something out of passion, they certainly won't be disappointed! I wish you a lot of work:D – such a nice one! Tell me, how do you make a warp on 176m?? :D.
    Greetings from Jadwiga!

  3. Thank you for all these congratulations.

Ivo – may you enjoy this state of waiting to go to work for as long as possible.

Regarding the long warp – 176 meters is made in installments 😀 Even despite my great passion for weaving one thing, I get bored with it after about 15 meters.
