I recently made a colorful selvedge. It is 4.5 cm wide. It was supposed to be 9 m long, which is half a meter more than I had managed to make using elements of housing infrastructure. It turned out that it was enough to make a certain modification to the way the warp was wound. The selvedge came out with a margin, because it is almost 10 m long. I estimate that now I could easily make selvedges even 14 meters long here.
However, the length of the selvedge is inversely proportional to the pleasure of weaving, and directly proportional to boredom and the number of ideas that arise as to what better thing one would like to do with the time devoted to a given selvedge.

I finished the green yarn, and the yarn finished me. This time I didn't touch up the colors, so that you could compare how I see these selvedges and how the camera sees them 😉 The warp is the same as in the case of the brown selvedges. So this series is a bit wider than the previous green ones. The swastikas fit in elegantly. I also went a step further in the variations...

  • Pokemon

I'm almost afraid to use this word, because uncle Google will start referring Pokemon hunters or collectors to my blog. Fortunately, I don't have a phobia about it - I remember that there was some cartoon with funny creatures, but the wave didn't take me. Actually, neither of the two waves: delight and mocking criticism. I won't describe the genesis of the selvedge,…

  • Brown Series

The material crisis has passed with the arrival of a full bundle of yarn. The colors will now be quite natural, and the selvedges will be difficult, because the wool is hard and rough. If so, I will make it more difficult and make the selvedges very patterned. I only wonder what my hands will look like after working through the whole bundle – maybe I will find a way to make the most effective peeling in the world. Each…

  • Krajka in a new place

The selvedge I’m presenting today is quite unique. I started it at the beginning of summer and I wasn’t in any hurry to finish it – I was testing a small inkle loom, which is very handy and a selvedge that has been started doesn’t bother anyone. I was also testing new yarns – new to me, because unfortunately the manufacturer has stopped production. The most important thing is that I finished it in…

  • Warm browns

I present a variation on the find from Ostrówek in Opole. I chose a harmonious color scheme of warm browns. I modified the pattern, leaving the grosgrain weave in the middle. The rows are tightly compressed, so the selvedge is quite stiff and solid, and it came out wider than I expected for the number of threads in the warp (3.4 cm). I managed to break the length record and came out 8.6 m….
