Brown Series

The material crisis has passed with the arrival of a full bundle of yarn. The colors will now be quite natural, and the selvedges will be difficult, because the wool is hard and rough. If so, I will make it more difficult and make the selvedges very patterned. I only wonder what my hands will look like after working through the whole bundle – maybe I will find a way to make the most effective peeling in the world.

Each selvedge is approximately 4.5 cm wide.
The first one is 1.8 m long and has a pattern of my own design.
The second one is 1.9 m long and the design is very historical – but unfortunately I can’t provide the source, because I recently installed the system and I don’t know which codex I copied it from…
The last selvedge is shorter, only 1.1 m long, and features a motif that is probably older than our civilization 🙂

And here's a view of the left side:

  • Spring

For me, spring started at the end of January. A larger dose of warm light + wildly chirping sparrows in the form of ruffled balls attached to the hedge. Apparently there were frosts and snow later - I didn't notice. But I finished the border for the Wielewit team. It is 8.5 m long and 3 cm wide. Made of Oliwia, an acrylic-wool yarn. It is very…

  • More complicated

Following the advice, I will try the html mode. The image is still on the left, even though the style is "center" and I added align center. But I can add non-breaking spaces. And I really do have better control over all of this. If something falls apart, it's only my fault 😉 I recently had the opportunity to make a slightly more difficult selvedge. A bit…

  • Krajka in a new place

The selvedge I’m presenting today is quite unique. I started it at the beginning of summer and I wasn’t in any hurry to finish it – I was testing a small inkle loom, which is very handy and a selvedge that has been started doesn’t bother anyone. I was also testing new yarns – new to me, because unfortunately the manufacturer has stopped production. The most important thing is that I finished it in…

  • Second green series

I finished the green yarn, and the yarn finished me. This time I didn't touch up the colors, so that you could compare how I see these selvedges and how the camera sees them 😉 The warp is the same as in the case of the brown selvedges. So this series is a bit wider than the previous green ones. The swastikas fit in elegantly. I also went a step further in the variations...

  • Miączynek demands access to the sea

The idea for such unusual selvedges was born in the winter while watching an evening series set in the Caribbean. Between scenes, there were often views with the seashore in the background and palm trees in the foreground. As much as the colors of the yarns and my imagination allowed me to, I conveyed the impression. This is one of the most enjoyable experiments. I am very glad that…
