Another selvedge has a photo 🙂
This is probably the longest of my selvedges – it is 10.65 m long. The width is 2.7 cm. The pattern is a combination of a zigzag and a herringbone. In the background and on the edges you can see dots, which came out by using a lighter thread.
After a break related to a trip to Beijing 😉 and smaller matters, I finished weaving on a wound warp. Today I took poor photos, but I and the camera are the best we can do – correcting the colors in Photoshop didn’t help either. I present another selvedge. The original comes from Ostrówek in Opole and is dated to the 4th quarter of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century. I used factory yarn, 100% wool. The number of threads in the warp is identical to the original, but my yarn is thicker, so the selvedge is also wider - instead of 2.5 cm it is 3.2 cm. Plain-grosgrain weave. Length 7.7…
In Ląd, it finally dawned on me that it would be necessary to take care of Seweryn's historical clothes. It is obvious that a shoemaker walks without shoes, but this cannot be transferred to his loved ones. Among the dwindling supplies of yarn I had 2 skeins of pure thick wool. The red and white look beautiful.
